The divine Transmutation of Man !

We have to overcome the Ego and its ten hoods, symbolically depicted as the ten heads of the demon Ravana, to attain to Self Actualisation

The Ego is the imperfect term in Man and Self is the perfect term. The Ego is the lower imperfect term of our Being; Self is the higher perfect term.

The six passions- lust, greed, anger, jealousy, sloth, covetousness - along with Mind ( Manas), Chitta ( the subconscious ), Intellect ( Buddhi ) & Ego ( Ahamkara ) have to be won, before the Divine Crown can be worn !

About the Redeemer, the divine Aurobindo wrote

Till evil is slain in its own house
And Light invades the world's inconscient base
And perished is the Adversary Force
He must still labour on, his works half done !

The fierce war going on the human bosom was depicted by the poets as The Iliad and the Odyssey, the Ramayana & the Mahabharatha. The negative elements in Man are the demons; the positive elements are the celestials !

Only after this fierce conflict can one attain to Self Actulisation. This is the Law of the way; where the great struggle for supremacy is fought out on the ground floor of our existence, between the black and white opposites of light and darkness, good and evil, prosperity & adversity.

There are no outer enemies; there are only inner enemies ( the ten outlined before )

It is not our enemies who plunge us into crises. It is the negative elements is us which put us in trouble.
