Dialectical Integralism in Indian Philosophy !

The Rishies knew about Dialectical Theory. While Yoga and Tantra represented
Theism, Charvaka and Samkhya represented Atheism.

Samkhya begins with the statement that " God's existence is not proved". It
only talks about two principles, Purusha and Prakriti. Prakriti is the main
cause, Pradhanam Prakritim Prahuh ! One of the best books on Samkya is the
Samkhya Karika.

Charvaka is absolute materialism. It exhorts all to eat drink and be merry.
It is not bothered about After Life, Transmigration et al. One of the best
books on the subject is the Barhaspatya Sutras.

The Theism of Yoga and Tantra is counterbalanced by its dialectical
opposite, the Atheism of Charvaka and Samkhya.

So Indian Philosophy is Dialectical Integralism, which includes the Thesis
of Theism and the Anti Thesis of Atheism.

Both the dialectical poles are integrated in a supreme synthesis, Advaitha
Vedanta Sastra, which maintains that all this is a projection of the
Universal Mind and only the Absolute Self exists, Maya matram idam dwaitham
/ Advaitham Parmarthatha. With God or without God ( as in Buddhism ), Self
Actualisation is possible !

Transcendental Consciousness proved by Modern Scientific Research

In his PhD Thesis, Dr Robert Keith Wallace, ex President of Maharshi International University, Fairfield, Iowa, US proved the existence of Transcendental Consciousness. Tureeya Brahman. ( "UCLA, the Physiological Effects of Transcendental Meditation, a Proposed Fourth Major State of Consciousness").

This is the scientific proof of what Yogis call the Tureeya Brahman, the Fourth State, transcending the three relative states, waking, dreaming and dreamless sleep.

Pratha smarami Hridi samsphuram Atma Tathvam
Sat Chit Sukham Paramahamsa Gathim Thureeyam
Yath Swapna Jagratha Sushupta Avethi Nityam
Thad Brahma Nishkalam Aham na cha Bhoothasangha

In the early morning hours
I meditate on the Self
Self supreme
Imperishable amidst the perishing
Whose nature is Being and Knowlege
Known as Fourth
Transcendental Consiousness
Transcending three states
Waking, dreaming, dreamless sleep
Swapna, Jagrata and Sushupthi
The Eternal Witness Awareness
Whose unmanifest nature
As Unbounded Awareness
Is present in all
Its manifestations !
I am not these
Assemblage of matter
Envelopments or prisons
But mighty Brahman
Partless and undifferentiated !

Himself the Play, Himself the Player, Himself the Playground !

Prakritim Purushaschaiva
Vidyanathi Ubhavapi
Vikaramscha Gunanamscha
Viddhi Prakriti Sambhavan !

Know then that Being and Becoming both
Hath no beginning !
That all qualities
Are Nature born ! ( Sir Edwin Arnold's translation, The Song Celestial )

We will define Being and Becoming here. These terms are much used in Philosophy.

There are two types of Reality, Relative Reality and Absolute Reality. Both are real in their fields.
Being is Absolute Being, Absolute Reality.
Becoming is Relatve Being, Relative Reality.

Both are beginningless, saith the Lord. Both Prakriti and Purusha. We have to , in order to study Vedanta Sastra, distinguish these two Realities, the two Realities which are ultimately One.
If we go to a higher dimension, we will find that nothing exists but He !

"He is Timeless and all that is in Time, He is Spaceless and all that is in Space. He is Causality and the Cause and the Effect. Brahman, the ishwara, is all This by His Yoga Maya ! For we find, that the Indeterminate teems with mutations and differentiae. Being turns into Being, but is always Itself and other than Its Becomings. The One becomes an innumerable mutitude. The Universal individualises Itself and the Individual Universalises Itself" - Aurobindo, Life Divine.

In the Alipore Bomb case, Aurobindo was on trial. Then the Divine Voice told Him. " It is I who am doing all this. Know that there is nothing impossible, nothing difficult"

The Voice continued " Now look at the prosecuting counsel". Aurobindo looked at the prosecuting counsel and He saw Lord Krishna.. "Now look at the Judge". He saw the Lord sitting there !

Then He later said that the Universe is His Play, one of the Rhythms of Brahman, the Absolute, the Lord playing in the world as Sat Chit Ananda !

Guruvayur4u

Without Bridal Mysticism, without Bhakti Yoga, can any one actualise the Absolute Self ? No !

So we started a Bhakti Yoga site, www.guruvayur4u.com. This site deals with devotion to the Guru or the Master.

Even though Self Actualisation is a selfish desire ! Just hear what the worldly, layman told the Yogi

While the masses are sunk in Ignorance
You want to scale the Eternal's peaks !
To immerse yourself in Bliss transcendental
Isnt thy desire selfish to the core ?

The Fivefold Pranic Energy !

This is the Fivefold Pranic Energy. Prana, Apana, Samana, Vyana and Udana. We have the statement ' Pancha Prana Prabhavanti Tasmat", that is the Fivefold Pranic Energy started from Thee.

Prana is the breath of life and moves in the upper parts of the body. It brings the Universal Life Force into the physical system and distributes itself.

The second, Apana, is the breath of Death. for it gives the Vital Force out of the body.

The third, Samana, regulates both these forces. Equalises and maintains equilibrium

The fourth, Vyana, distributes vital energies throughout the body.

The Fifth, Udana, moves upwards from the body to the crown and is a regular channel between the worlds of Matter and Spirit !
